LMHA Chair Dr. Lisa O’Rourke Scott and LMHA Manager Ian Hackett spoke about the exiting plans for this years Limerick Mental Health Week:
After the summer break Limerick Mental Health Association is buzzing with activity as we plan our ongoing activities for the coming months. First and foremost is the very exciting programme we have taking place for Mental Health week this year, which will run from 8-15 October. The theme of mental health week this year is Mind, Body and Social, and together with social, business and community partners, we hope there will be much to enjoy in each of these areas. Please check out our calendar of events including a community health and wellbeing event, parent and toddler story time, a dog friendly social event in the milk market, a family walk or run, information days, talks, workshops and much, much more. I am particularly excited about the Limerick choral union concert in St Mary’s Cathedral, and to meeting our partners across Limerick city and county who have supported us so generously over the years. Have a look at the timetable as soon as you can and mark out your favourite events in the calendar.

Speaking at the launch Ian Hackett, Manager of LMHA, emphasises the importance of community involvement and asks: What are you doing for Limerick Mental Health Week 2023?
“Limerick has always been a city and county where your neighbours and community give us a sense of belonging. We invite communities and workplaces to participate in Limerick Mental Health Week 2023. Whether it’s hosting a simple coffee morning, organising a yoga session, or taking a short walk with friends and family, every small effort helps promote positive mental health. No event is too small to make a difference.”
