Blueflame Poetry: Lighting the Way for Limerick Mental Health

THE Blueflame Poetry Club celebrated a very special occasion this week with the launch of their new publication, the ‘Limerick Poetry Mag‘, celebrating the voices of local poets while supporting the Limerick-based charity Limerick Mental Health Association.

The magazine brings together a collection of poems written by talented local poets, offering them a platform to share their creativity, express themselves and have their work published. Alongside these original pieces, readers will also find words of positivity and encouragement from LMHA, making this publication a celebration of both creativity and the power of positive messages.

Importantly, the magazine has a purpose beyond poetry. Proceeds will support LMHA, helping to raise awareness and provide mental health support to the community.

The launch event was a fantastic success, filled with poetry, inspiration and plenty of community spirit. One of the highlights of the evening was hearing poets read their own work aloud, bringing their words to life and giving guests the opportunity to experience the stories, emotions and messages behind each poem.

Guests also enjoyed a special guest speech from Prof. Eoin Devereux, sharing inspiring words and highlighting the importance of creativity, community and the power of giving people a platform to express themselves.

There was a wonderful response to the poetry mag, with many copies sold on the night. This support is a testament to the enthusiasm of the local community and the willingness of people to get behind both emerging poets and a meaningful charitable cause.

LMHA and Solace Café would like to extend our gratitude to all those who assisted in the creation of the poetry mag, those who attended on the night and those who have, and continue to, offer support to both LMHA and the Blueflame Poetry Club.

The Limerick Poetry Mag can be purchased for €5 at LMHA/Solace Café, Quay Books, The Celtic Bookshop, The Commercial and the Happy Days Café. Proceeds go to Limerick Mental Health Association and Solace Café.
