Art classes

Art classes are in Le Chéile on Sexton Street every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm. Art classes are facilitated by Julianne Hennelly, project coordinator and graduate of Limerick School of Art & Design. The art classes provide a relaxed and safe environment that nurtures creativity of all levels. Therefore, don’t worry if you have never painted or drawn before. Julianne will guide you step by step to create your own unique masterpiece. Most importantly, this class aims to focus on each participants abilities and interests. All art materials are provided. Acrylic paint is used most often. For instance, we use acrylic paint to explore a variety of techniques and ways to express observations of landscapes, seascapes, animals and people.

We hold two annual art exhibitions where members are invited to showcase their art to their family and the wider community. Past exhibitions were held in conjunction with the Limerick School of Art & Design, Limerick Youth Service and King Johns Castle.

Our next exhibition will take place in Le Chéile on Thursday May 30th 2019 from 5-8pm. This will be open to the public. Come meet our artists and experience our hub of activities and peer support.
