Yesterday, Limerick Mental Health Association had the incredible privilege of visiting Áras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President of Ireland. This invitation came directly from the office of President Michael D. Higgins, recognising our ongoing work in supporting people who are struggling with their mental health. It was an inspiring and memorable experience that will remain with us for years to come.
We were warmly welcomed and taken on a guided tour of the Áras. Sergeant Paul Mulligan provided a rich, insightful look into the history and significance of this beautiful residence, deepening our appreciation of its place in Irish heritage. His knowledge and passion brought each room and artefact to life, making this part of the visit truly unforgettable.
The highlight was the tea reception, a chance to gather in such a historic setting and reflect on the importance of mental health work across Ireland. It was an honour to have our dedication and efforts acknowledged at the national level, and it reaffirmed our commitment to promoting positive mental health, awareness, education and support in the Limerick community and beyond.
We extend our deepest gratitude to President Higgins and his office for this special opportunity and for their continued support of mental health initiatives across the country. It was a wonderful reminder of the power of community, connection, and understanding.
Thank you again to President Higgins, Sergeant Paul Mulligan, and everyone involved in making this day a treasured memory for us.
