On the 15th of May, Limerick Colbert Train Station was filled with smiles, warm greetings, and meaningful conversations as part of the National Hello Campaign and what a powerful experience it was!
The Hello Campaign, an initiative by Mental Health Ireland, is built around a simple but profound message: a simple hello can spark a life-changing conversation. In a world where so many are busy rushing from one task to the next, pausing to say hello and check in with one another can make an extraordinary difference. Whether it’s a friendly greeting to a stranger or a genuine check-in with a loved one, these small moments of connection have the power to uplift and support mental wellbeing.
At Limerick Colbert Station, the campaign truly came alive. Commuters, travelers, and staff were greeted by our wonderful volunteers who were on hand to share information, offer a friendly chat, and remind everyone of the importance of reaching out. The energy in the station was warm and welcoming, as people took a moment to pause, connect, and simply say hello.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the incredible volunteers who gave their time, their kindness, and their smiles to make this event such a success. Your dedication and compassion are what make campaigns like this possible. Every smile you shared, every conversation you had, and every leaflet you handed out contributed to making someone’s day that little bit brighter.
A very special thank you also goes to Mental Health Ireland for leading this inspiring initiative and for continually reminding us all of the importance of human connection in supporting mental health.
At Limerick Mental Health Association, we believe that mental health is everyone’s business. Campaigns like Hello encourage us all to be mindful of those around us, to check in, to start a conversation, and to be a support to one another. It doesn’t take much — just a moment, just a hello — but it can mean the world to someone who might be struggling.
Let’s continue to carry the message of the Hello Campaign beyond this week. Take the time to say hello, ask how someone is doing, and truly listen. Together, we can make our communities stronger, kinder, and more supportive for all.
Thank you again to everyone who made the Hello Campaign at Limerick Colbert Station a resounding success!
