What’s on at LMHA this May 2024

Throughout April, the LMHA team has continued to work tirelessly to support individuals in our community. Our peer support services, walk-in services and wellness programmes have seen a steady increase in participation, and the team is always happy to witness the positive impact of these sessions. We remain steadfast in our mission to provide a safe and nurturing space for everyone seeking mental health support this May.

We have three new workshops coming up in May and a new addition to our weekly classes! We are now facilitating Reiki with Lionel on Thursdays from 2pm-4pm.

Here is our updated schedule for May.

Our weekly classes continue throughout May; Monday Movers, Mindful Painting, Men’s Shed, Reiki with Lionel and Creative Writing.

Mindful Movement with Kathleen will run on the last two Mondays of May (20th & 27th).

A new personal development course ‘Wellbeing in the City’ will run from the 17th of May. Get in contact with us to book your place- info@limerickmentalhealth.ie or 061 446786. Fetch registration is required for this course.

Walk-in service is also available Mon – Fri 9:30am-5pm. Call in for one of our classes or just for a cup of tea or coffee.

What events and workshops are coming up in May:

Yoga & Breathwork in the Park (8th May)

Lisa will be joining us for one beathwork and yoga class this month and we have decided to make it a special one by hosting it in the People’s Park! 

Lisa is a breathwork and meditation coach who provides somatic coaching and yoga to aid anxiety, depression, addiction and trauma. This breathwork and yoga class helps users to focus their thoughts on the present moment through grounded movement, mindful observation and meditation and breathing practices.

Be sure to mark your calendars for this class! We are expecting fine weather for the day so this is sure to be a wonderful moment for self-care and de-stress in the sun.

Monthly Women’s Group (14th May)

Our Monthly Women’s Group continues on the second Tuesday of each month at 11am.

LMHA’s Women’s Group aims to create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages open conversation and compassion for yourself and others.

Women of all ages are welcome as we find that this provides a range of perspectives and makes the discussion very diverse. We’re really looking forward to the next meeting, which will focus on the theme of self-love.

Stress Reduction Clinic (30th May)

 

Our breathwork facilitator Lisa is holding a Stress Reduction Clinic on Thursday 30th May in LMHA.

This stress reduction clinic will include auricular acupuncture (ear acupuncture) and will enable the participants to de-stress, unwind and focus their thoughts on the present moment.

Art Creativity Workshop (16th May)

Ceramic artist, Evelyn will lead a clay making workshop in which we will all build a cute animal figure by slab building, surface decoration, modelling and painting with air drying clay. 
 

Evelyn Kelly is a ceramic artist based in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary. Since graduating from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2003, Evelyn creates sculptural figurative pieces from clay and teaches clay and mixed media classes.

No experience is necessary as the emphasis of this class is placed on tapping into our creativity from  working with clay in a fun and relaxed way!
