We were delighted to be invited by Stacy, the social liaison officer at Knockalisheen Direct Provision Centre to visit their premises in Co. Clare on Monday 26th February. The LMHA team visited the facility to deliver a short presentation about what we do to promote positive mental health. We spoke to some of the individuals who are residing in Knockalisheen about their concerns with their mental health and from their feedback, we have derived that the main issues they face are social isolation, emotional regulation and lack of stimulating activities in the centre.
To combat these problems, we are linking in with the team at Knockalisheen and have put a plan in place to provide support to the residents on an ongoing basis.
We are looking forward to tackling this new project and can’t wait to share our progress.
